DinoZone

A simple virtual pet game made for Team Dogpit's Virtual Pet Jam. Feed and give water to a virtual Brontosaurus that grows over time in the DinoZone, a simulated environment designed to maximize the comfort of your dino.

NOTE: the in-browser version of the game is not compatible with all web browsers. See below for a list of browsers the game appears to be compatible/incompatible with.

Compatible: Chrome, Brave

CONTROLS

Move: WASD/arrow keys

Look: Mouse

Use item: Left mouse button

Change item: Scroll wheel/number keys 1-8

Click on your dino with the leaf or watering can to feed and provide water for it. Click on the ground with the laser pointer to encourage your dino to move to a certain place.

NOTE FOR MAC USERS

Like most games made using a free license of the Unity engine, DinoPet has been found to have some compatibility issues on Mac. This is because more recent Mac operating systems will by default refuse to open applications from developers unknown by Apple.

The simplest fix to this issue is to right-click the application icon and select "open" from the drop-down menu instead of just double-clicking. This should open a slightly different window that asks if you want to open the application anyways. After doing this once, you should be able to open by double-clicking again.

If that doesn't work, this article features some more information about the problem. I believe there is also a way to override security settings for the app using terminal commands, but I honestly don't recommend bothering trying to figure out that trick.
